The Challenge
Piedmont Regional Airport (2.1M passengers annually, Virginia) had multiple siloed camera systems from different eras — analog cameras in parking, IP cameras in terminals, and standalone DVRs in maintenance areas. Security staff couldn't monitor all zones from a single location. TSA compliance audits identified coverage gaps in secure zones.
The Solution
We designed a unified video management system (VMS) that brought all cameras under one platform: upgraded 45 analog cameras to IP while keeping existing infrastructure, added 28 new cameras in previously uncovered areas, centralized monitoring station for all airport zones, and cloud backup for TSA-compliant footage retention.
