How Riverside University Upgraded 200+ Cameras While Staying Under Budget
The Challenge
Riverside University (8,500 students, North Carolina) had an aging analog camera system with significant blind spots across their 120-acre campus. The security team manually reviewed tapes after incidents — often finding critical footage missing or overwritten. Budget constraints meant a full replacement wasn't feasible.
The Solution
We designed a phased IP camera rollout prioritizing high-traffic areas: replacing 50 critical cameras first, then adding 80 new cameras in previously uncovered areas, and upgrading the remaining 70 cameras. A centralized video management system allowed live monitoring and 90-day storage, integrated with the existing campus access control system.
