Are metal detectors a good security practice?

We don’t think so. In fact they may complicate good security practices rather than complementing.

Using a passive system like ViewScan doesn’t interfere with pacemakers, affect pregnant women, harm photographic film, damage implants, nor reveal the biological details of any human being traveling through it. You don’t need to remove shoes, jewelry, belts or other personal items. Rather than detect common things a person carries with them, ViewScan detects anomalies like guns, knives and cell phones. Allowing for up to 1000 people per hour to be intelligently scanned.

Systems like ViewScan are portable, or can be built in to a door way. They require no calibration while offering the ability to record the video of images being acquired as people walk through.
